Aaron Jacob Schumacher
03.
affiliation:
Nothing in particular
04.
category:
mainly b-boy
05.
hometown:
Menasha, Wisconsin
06.
why do you live in madison:
I'm a student at the UW here. It also happens
that I like the city, which works out nicely.
07.
goals:
Oneness
08.
hip hop influences:
Everyone,
everything; but especially KRS-One, The Spartanic Rockers, and LaCouir
Yancey.
09.
most memorable hip hop moment:
I'd
have to say the b-boy battle that happened at Memorial Union
(8
November 2002), but that may just be sign of how short my memory is...
10. what do you love about madisons hip hop scene:
That it exists, I guess, but at the same time that
it isn't incredibly big and showy; there's still a good deal of consciousness
in play.
11. what would you change about madisons hip hop scene:
It bothers me sometimes that good shows happen in
places where you have to be 21 to gain entrance, making it hard or impossible
for honest people under that age to gain admittance.
12. describe the first time you felt hip hop:
Wow; I don't know... Walking home from school in
seventh grade with friends, on our way to my carpeted living room to try
and breakdance. The excitement when the roller rink finally got
its turntables installed. Seeing live emcees freestyling for the
first time between acts at a hip-hopshow.
13. philosophy on life:
Life is pretty nice, really.
14.
other interests beyond hip hop:
Computers, especially the Free Software movement.
Government, especially attempts of the people to control it. Science,
especially figuring out what is actually known and what isn't.
15.
additonal comments:
Why is it that the US has (as far as I can tell)
no proper Battle of the Year USA to determine what US crew goes to BotY
in Germany? Do they just pick a random crew or what?
